In 2025, I received the Medal with Yellow Ribbon in recognition of my 30 years of embroidery while living with my illness.
This brought me to a major milestone: the award ceremony.
For the first time, I chose to use a cane.
Rather than hiding my need for support, I wanted to embrace it beautifully and with pride.
This inspired the “3D Embroidery and Glass Rose” cane, blending a Glass Rose cane with a 3D-embroidered butterfly—a symbol of my journey.
Turning a simple mobility aid into art that brightens life.
My hope is that this cane brings beauty, confidence, and joy to your every step.
Custom-made Cane: A Collaboration between Sayoko’s 3D Embroidery and Sutekiya Alook
The Craftsmanship of 3D Embroidery & Glass Rose
At the top of the transparent Glass Rose cane, flowers bloom using Sayoko’s unique 3D embroidery technique. Resting gently upon these flowers are two Helena Morpho butterflies, delicately crafted in miniature to fit perfectly inside the cane.
By meticulously adjusting the size and the angle of their wings, the two butterflies appear gracefully paused, captured in a fleeting moment of flight.
In the lower half, a flowing arrangement of Swarovski crystals and beads adds a sense of depth, catching and reflecting the light. Within this clear, transparent space, a miniature world quietly unfolds—where flowers bloom, butterflies dance, and light beautifully wanders.
The entire design is crafted to elegantly enhance the user’s presence, mimicking the way the hem pattern of a kimono gracefully flows with every step.
